About the Australian 3-City Tour
Sir Tim Berners-Lee is coming to Australia for the first time in over a decade from January 27th – February 5th on a three city tour. Sir Tim Berners-Lee Australia, 3-City Tour, will commence at Canberra and continue to Melbourne and Sydney.
This tour was initiated with a request from the Linux.conf.au to have Sir Tim Berners-Lee as the keynote presenter at their conference on Thursday 31st January 2013, in Canberra. This will be his first visit in over a decade and he is delighted to accept the invitation primarily because it will support the awareness of the Web throughout the community, business, government and the whole of society.
This is not your typical celebrity tour, it will consist of a series of events over 8 days comprising of private corporate events and public open-university hosted events which will be free to the public.
iiNet is proud to present Sir Tim Berners-Lee and with the additional support of a number of Consortium and Private Sponsors, this visit is now a reality and without whom this unique opportunity would not have been possible.
Details of the tour are at http://tbldownunder.org/
There is still one opportunity for a private event available, so please contact us if your organisation would be interested in a private event.
Quotes of Sir Tim Berners-Lee
